When our client first purchased this property, they envisioned a home to be proud of – one that was perfect for entertaining. With a clear plan to modernise the house in phases, their first priority was transforming the dated and restrictive kitchen into an open-plan space that flowed effortlessly into their newly landscaped garden. The existing layout simply didn’t allow for hosting family and friends as they had hoped.
The goal was to create a social, fluid space that connected the front living room right through to the garden – perfect for weekend gatherings and everyday enjoyment.
Sometimes, moving forward requires taking a few steps back. The kitchen’s plasterwork and electrics were in poor condition, so the space was stripped back to the original brickwork. A full electrical rewire was carried out, preparing the room for a fresh start.

Bringing the outdoors in
To maximise natural light and enhance the connection to the outdoors, we installed bi-fold doors as part of the kitchen refurbishment. This addition created a bright, seamless indoor-outdoor space with direct access to the garden – ideal for summer entertaining.
Once the new plastering was complete, the smooth, level walls provided the perfect foundation for a sleek modern kitchen. The final result was a light-filled, open-plan space with ample storage and a natural flow from the living room to the garden.
The client was left with a stylish and welcoming kitchen, perfect for entertaining friends and family all year round.
